Québec City, July 6, 2017 – The Québec government has confirmed that a specialized firm is currently creating a digital terrain model using aerial surveys on the Lower North Shore, between La Romaine and Tête-à-la-Baleine and between La Tabatière and Vieux-Fort. The data is required to complete route planning studies for the extension of Route 138.

Québec, le 25 avril 2017 – Le ministre Pierre Arcand dresse un bilan positif des deux premières années d’existence de la Société du Plan Nord (SPN). En effet, il a dévoilé aujourd’hui que pas moins de 7 350 emplois sont actuellement reliés aux activités du Plan Nord. De ce nombre, 5 400 emplois sont associés à la construction de projets miniers, 1 600 à leurs opérations et plus de 350 emplois à des initiatives dans lesquelles la SPN a investi directement. Il s’agit notamment de projets concernant le transport, les télécommunications et le logement.

Sept-Îles, April 9, 2017 – Société du Plan Nord, Tata Steel Minerals Canada and Quebec Iron Ore Inc. (“QIO”), a subsidiary of Champion Iron Limited (TSX: CIA, ASX: CIA), will work together, in a multi-user approach, to manage and develop the industrial facilities at Pointe‑Noire in Sept-Îles, Quebec, via the limited partnership Société Ferroviaire et Portuaire de Pointe‑Noire (“SFPPN”). The new partners will develop an innovative business model that meets the needs of the private sector while also promoting maximum benefits for future projects in the region.
